在工业领域中，为达到耐磨、防锈、外观美化等性能，常在产品表面添加镀层或者涂层，但是其厚度往往是影响其性能的重要指标，对此，SGS提供各类镀层/涂层厚度的检测，例如：建材底板的耐磨层厚度，汽车装饰件的Cu/Ni/Cr层厚度，五金/首饰/工艺件的Au，Ag，Pt，Pd层厚度，镀锌板的锌层厚度（亦可用重量法换算后得出），漆层厚度等。

测试项目：
耐磨层厚度、漆层厚度、单层厚度＞1μm的金属镀层，建议使用金相显微法

金属类镀层，测试镀层厚度＜1μm 或者贵重样品，推荐使用X-Ray测试法
For metal coatings, test coating thickness <1μm or precious samples, X-Ray test method is recommended

汽车类装饰件的Cr镀层，如标准要求，可用库伦法测试
The Cr coating of automobile decoration parts, if required by the standard, can be tested by the Coulomb method
